The proposed Development occupies and area of 1,878 m2, and ranges from 8-storeys high on the Barrington Street Side, 9-storeys high along Granville Street, and navigates a substantial grade change of +3m along George Street. The building will include:

  • Retail space along Barrington Street with a double-height feature facing Barrington and George Streets (650 m2)
  • Interpretive design and landscape elements to mitigate the grade change (stepping towards the harbour)
  • 129 +/- units in total (1 and 2 bedroom units)
  • Indoor amenity space common area (240 m2)
  • Roof top amenity terraces common area (100 m2)
  • 3 levels of underground parking (145 stalls +/-)

The design approach is rooted in the conservation of heritage elements left on the site, meaning all new work is physically and visually compatible with, yet subordinate and distinguishable from, any heritage elements. The new elements pay homage to the existing heritage buildings and historical context through its regularity, proportions and material expression. As a whole, the design reflects the past, present and future of this significant urban site.
